Carafin Activity Park

Carafin Activity Park is a year-round recreational park which offers both land-based and water-based activities for people of all ages. Carafin is located in a tranquil area of County Cavan, on the shores of Lough Oughter. We provide multiple types of activities with environmental tourism at the forefront of our agenda and in particular a unique activity to Cavan and the surrounding region, Hydrobikes.

Being located in the Hidden Heartlands Region, we believe makes Cavan a hidden-gem, located off the beaten track. We combine fitness activities with the great outdoors, so people can get the best of both worlds. The combination of exercising and exploring; amalgamated together always makes for a great day out and fun for all the family.

Facilities: changing rooms, dining area (indoor and outdoor), reception, toilets (4 in total), meeting lounge, conference room, jetty, free parking for both cars and coaches, hot/cold beverages and light refreshments available to purchase on site.

How did the Business Sustainability Training Programme benefit you and your business? 
Greatly, as I have gradually implemented the learned business sustainable measures, which I have learned at any stage or area where I see fit. For example, I have installed a 6kw PV Solar panel and a Rainwater Harvesting system too. More to follow in the coming months.

What is the main sustainability focus of your business?
We provide multiple types of activities with environmental tourism at the forefront of our agenda. We want people to make the most of their time in Cavan, enjoying what the scenery has to offer, but with a strong conscience for treating the local environment with awe and respect. We believe that Cavan is a hidden-gem and located off the beaten track, so it is these types of people that we want to attract. This area has so much potential for outdoor activities, so overall our mission is to combine recreation with a leave no trace policy.
