This spell of winter weather has brought glorious scenes across the Geopark, but it can also bring with it difficult conditions which can deteriorate rapidly.
Here are some tips to help you enjoy your visit to the Geopark safely:

Plan your route and be sure to finish with daylight to spare

Check the weather forecast regularly and be prepared to change your visit noting that conditions at lower levels can be vastly different to higher areas

Always tell someone where you are going and when you expect to return

Be sure to bring your mobile phone

Good waterproofs and a layered clothing system are essential

Good walking boots are essential in winter

Carry snacks and warm drinks for the duration of your visit
Happy and safe exploring and remember to tag us on socials, @cuilcaghlakelands when you are enjoying the Geopark safely this winter.
