Erne Water Taxi & Island Discovery

Erne Water Taxi was established in 2016. Having spent many great days exploring Fermanagh, Sailing, Kayaking, Rowing, and fishing we were inspired to showcase our beautiful homeland and wanted to give visitors the chance to become immersed in the spectacular lakeland landscape of Lough Erne. The experience we provide gives our visitors the opportunity to connect with nature and enjoy an outdoor adventure off the beaten track. Our personal, bespoke service inspires our visitors to imagine Lough Erne’s ancient landscape through the stories our passionate guides tell. We want you to create memories of a lifetime with us in one of the most beautiful locations in the world, Lough Erne. Relax on board our luxurious boats and together we will explore a landscape full of hidden history and islands with rich folklore.

Facilities: Water Taxi and Tour Guiding service on Lough Erne. We have two boats available for private tours all year around, our 8 seater Water Taxi and 12 seater, Fully Electric, Island Discovery. Both boats are covered allowing you to travel in all weathers. We also run public tours at weekends in June and every day in July and August from Enniskillen Castle Museums Jetty.

How did the Business Sustainability Training Programme benefit you and your business?
The course has enabled us to shift our mindset on what a Sustainable Business is. Coming from the idea of simply having a responsibility to the environment, to a way in which to grow our business, our sense of community and as an opportunity to secure our peoples future in a Geopark landscape.

What is the main sustainability focus of your business?
We now have ambitious aims for the future, and we are aiming to become a zero carbon business by switching all our boats to fully electric and solar powered vessels rather than relying on mains electricity. We want to give people a chance to experience a new way to travel on water, slowly and silently allowing them to appreciate our beautiful lakeland landscape as we travel through the river Erne leaving no trace of our journey.
